Juho Hanninen at his first race with Super 2000, won the Rally of Russia with Peugeot 207 prepared by Kronos team for guests. A very talented Russ, Evgeny Novikov 17 years old, was the runner up till he abandoned in the last assay of the rally.

Russian Rally 2008 became a big business and more serious like the last edition from the last year, when IRC (International Rally Challenge) came first time in this country. It was a special competition because the starting party was after the first rally race. Each stage consists in getting over two different assays and the total number of special was 12.

After one year he became a famous rally driver, Evgeny Novikov had to solve two problems: the first one consist in using his new rally car Subaru N14 and the second one if he should change his navigator or not. His team made some tests in Estonia and they decided to use the model N12, and his co-driver is now the Australian Dale Muscat. Dale Moscatt was the co-driver for Cody Crocker and Xu Lang.

Russian Rally is known for its hardness. The headquarter was at Vyborg and the special allays were full of sand and extremely rapidly. Even there was the first time when he drove Super 2000, Juho Hanninen became a lider. The runner up was Anton Allen, 2007 winner. Juho Hanninen was surprised to win and he declared he had a lot to learn about his car and about the rally. He hope will have the chance to race again in that rally championship.

IRC Rally Championship will continue after tree weeks with Madeira Rally. Because he was absent in Russia, Luca Rossetti has the same score like Nicolas Vouilloz with 26 points, and the runner up is Freddy Loix with 16 points. Madeira Rally was the last rally when Fiat beat Peogeot in IRC.
